Marita Middleton
PHYSIOTHERAPIST – MSC (PT) BA (HONS), PGDIP (ORTHO MED) CGIMS
Marita Middleton graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a Masters in Rehabilitation Science (Physiotherapy) in 2003, following her undergraduate degree in Physiology at Trinity College Dublin.
She furthered her specialization in Orthopaedic and Manual Therapy with many postgraduate courses working as a senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist in the U.K.
In 2007 she earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine with the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine. Experienced in dry needling since 2007 in the U.K, she completed her Certification in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (CGIMS) in 2011.
Marita is experienced in treating wide variety of orthopedic conditions both acute and chronic, including spinal, soft tissue, TMJ and headaches. In addition, having developed an interest in balance and dizziness whilst working with an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist in the U.K., she has undertaken further Advanced Vestibular Rehabilitation (VRT) education in 2011.
In order to provide quality care, Marita believes in a thorough assessment and evidence based practice, with a strong emphasis on patient education. With her treatments, she can offer a variety of options including; manual and manipulative therapy, intramuscular stimulation (IMS), and customized exercise prescription.
She looks forward to joining the team at Foul Bay Physiotherapy having worked in Victoria since moving to Canada in 2008. Outside of her work she enjoys exploring the province through biking, hiking, kayaking and skiing.
